Say What?

Overheard on the news this morning: "Senator Edward Kennedy checked in to Duke University Medical Center and will undergo surgery by Dr. Allan Friedman, the chief of the Neurosurgery there, two weeks after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor."

I've got a bulletin for the copywriter. The word inoperable does not belong in that sentence.

Stay tuned for more writerly advice from author Dyanne Davis. I'll try to get it up later today.

That's odd indeed. I think the bulletin is either missing a sentence, such as "After a second opinion the Senator was told the tumor..." Or the bulletin just has wrong information. In either case, it makes you wonder...

In any case, glad you and the hubby made it safely to WI. I used to drive through there when we lived in Minneapolis during those times when we felt ambitious enough to drive to see the folks in Jersey. And I spent some time in Madison, WI when I lived in Minneapolis. I have to say, as a person who is lactose intolerant, the state didn't thrill me. :-)

Gwyneth, I'm just crazy about Culver's and their ice cream.

Aside from having heard tornado sirens go off three times in two weeks, we're liking it so far!
