Quit Yer Bitchin'
Re Florida and Michigan: So you figured you'd pull a fast one and move up your primaries to earlier than allowed, huh? So you thought the nominee would be wrapped up by February, huh? Now that you know the race is tight everybody's crying "Disenfranchisement!" Please. You should have thought about it before you broke the damn rules. You'll get to vote in November in the national election . . . unless you decide to hold it on Labor Day weekend.
Still don't get it? Try this simplified version: The governments of Florida and Michigan agreed that their primaries would not count if they broke the rules. They broke the rules, and the primaries don’t count. The End. Maybe in 2012 you won't be so anxious to set the trend of the election.
P.S. To Florida: So the Republican-controlled state government overrode your objections and passed the bill to move up the primary anyway. This is what happens when you're in the minority. It's happened to a good number of American citizens for generations. Doesn't feel good, does it?

I'm in FL and I'm with you on this one. I hate that the Republicans were allowed to determine the fate of Democratic votes. I think every state should have a bi-partisan election commission that makes these decisions, independent of the state legislature.
In the meantime, we got screwed. Okay. Move on. Do NOT seat the delegates as is. ('Cuz only Clinton broke the agreement and campaigned here. Totally not fair.) Do NOT have a "do-over. Unh-unh. Suck it up and learn from this for the next time.
Funny how Hilary is breaking a lot of rules...she is in it to win it by any means necessary---a character flaw of hers that I don't particularly like. I know politics can get down and dirty; but yet where are the morals...she's cocky too because she's already talking about adding Barack to the ticket with her being the lead of course. But I guess all is fair when it comes to politics.
From Michigan, I second Patricia's "we got screwed" - this decision had NOTHING to do with the voters, and everything to do with the party officials. We the voters had no say so in this matter of moving the date whatsoever.
But, as it stands, yep, leave sleeping dogs. It's unfair, and pretty obvious who would benefit.
Since neither will reach 2,025 - go with the candidate who comes closest, and let's start getting ready for November.
I'm another Michigan resident. Didn't get to vote. But I don't think there should be a do-over. It seems ridiculous that some folks are pushing this after the previous agreement.
Reon
The people, they say, have spoken, including several from the states in question. Hopefully our wishes will be respected.
Thanks for posting, all!
